Social media marketing strategy is on the minds of many small business owners. And if it’s not on yours, it should be!
Major platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram are fighting for market shares by tailoring their business models to balance providing better returns to shareholders with improved user experience.
As these platforms evolve, the way you use them for your small business must also change.

More than 18 months later, the Federal Trade Commission officially ruled that Cambridge Analytica had deceived Facebook users. The company collected the personal data of millions of Facebook profiles without the consent of the people, and then used them for the purposes of political advertising.
Although Cambridge Analytica went bankrupt soon after the scandal, Facebook continues to work hard to tighten its data access processes and convince people to believe in its new dedicated news platform.
Facebook published Facebook News for a subset of people in the US. This means that while you will still see family and friend posts in the main feed, Facebook News will publish the content of a team of journalists (a Facebook employee).
This year, the company is also focusing on cryptocurrency and establishing its Facebook Pay function. This may mean that your small business may soon include platform sales in your account.
Although the launch of Facebook Watch did not go as expected (only 140 million people watch videos and shows a day, which sounds huge, but does not compare to the total 1.6 billion daily activities of the platform). Still, it looks like Facebook will try again in 2020, so let’s see what that means for video marketing.

We also saw LinkedIn groups coming back.
